Ordinary
Living on life’s razor’s edge,
immersed in action and audacity,
driven by eccentricity,
crazy as craziness can be,
sometimes blurring rights and wrongs,
probing the limits of abilities,
be it in distances run or creativity,
forging paths for human destiny,
lies, what I call, the extraordinary
Me, I’m no extraordinary,
dwelling near means and medians,
a little good at this and a little good at that,
mostly conforming to the beaten path,
sipping teas, rearranging furniture,
hushed evenings, gardening sprees,
sometimes dreaming of a greater fare,
a bit of effort here and a dare there,
usually, to come back to the daily affair.
Is this the limits of my destiny,
or a self-fulfilled prophecy?
Am I a prisoner of my chemistry?
Where do I find the answers to be?
Embarking on an inward journey,
to understand the totality of me,
to discern if I can light a spark,
that’ll help me see through the dark,
while I still wait for the clarity.
